I have been wearing eyeglasses for as long as I can remember. My eyes started needing visual assistance since I was playing baseball as a very young child. Since then I have had a barage of eyeglasses. I have had every kind of frame and they all have one thing in common and that is they get in the way of life! I do a lot of sports and two things that do not go together are eyeglasses and sports! I had thought about wearing contacts and had tried them many years ago so I never went through with trying them again. Then a friend of mine started using acuvue oasys. It seems that everything that bothered me about them before have been addressed and the new lenses are totally different. The Acuvue lenses are able to be worn up to a week without having to remove them and then you just take them out and put in a new pair. When they blink you can not feel them as you could the old styles of contacts so that is better on the eye as well as the comfort. Then I read the new Silicone Hydrogel Material provides 98% of available oxyen to the eye and they are made by Johnson and Johnson in their Vistakon division. We all know that brand is the world leader in soft lens technology and I have trusted Johnson and Johnson my whole life. It sounds like it is time to start wearing contacts and put my dinosaur eyeglasses in the drawer. It is amazing to think of life without the aggrevation of eyeglasses and I could not be more ready to start!
