One of the things the internet has given us is the ability to access any computer that is tied into the internet. If you have been around IT for more than twelve years, then you know how difficult it used to be access computers over phone lines with nothing more than domain or a IP address. The favorite old is dial up where you would here the modems hiss and sinc up. Now you pop in a IP address a login and password and you are in. Now you login to more than one computer at the same time. This is possible via internet access and Remote Desktop Sotware. Remote Access software gives you the ability to control a computer remotely, transfer data, train someone and even perform maintenance. It is really cool when you can do many at the same time and them brought up on seperate windows. Financial services really like the new remote access softwares because they more of a business oriented software with the emphasis is on it’s security function of 256-bit encryption – the highest in its class. This is twice the encryption from the last version. I like it where I can use the same software on MAC, Windows and Linux. This was problem years ago, you would have to have sperate version for each operating system version.
